BU Announces Class of 2013

BOSTON - The Boston University women's soccer team and head
coach Nancy Feldman are pleased to announce the 2013 recruiting class, which
will compete with the two-time defending America East champions in the fall. The
Terriers, who will be looking for their seventh conference title in 10 years,
welcome a diverse group of seven student-athletes that hail from as close as
Massachusetts to as far as Hawaii.
The 2013 class boasts three local players, but the coaching staff also stretched
their recruiting efforts to New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Hawaii. Each of
the seven incoming Terriers fills different roles throughout the lineup and plug
in holes left by graduation.
Hailing from just 20 miles outside Boston, Adrienne Anderson of Needham, Mass.,
will graduate shortly from The Rivers Schools where she is a three-time All-ISL
and two-time all-state and all-New England selection. Her high school team won
the Independent School League her sophomore and junior campaigns. In addition,
Anderson was a multi-sport athlete at The Rivers School, where she also competed
in swimming and lacrosse.

UMass Opens Home Schedule With 2-2 Draw Against UNH
AMHERST, Mass. - With
the help of two goals from senior co-captain Vanessa Patry (Delmar, N.Y./Bethlehem Central), the UMass
women's soccer team opened its 2008 home schedule with a 2-2 draw against New Hampshire on Thursday afternoon on Rudd Field. The Minutewomen are now 0-1-2 to start the year, while the
Wildcats sit at 1-2-1 following the contest.
"I'm disappointed because we could have put game away in the first half," said Massachusetts Head Coach
Jim Rudy, "but a combination of great defensive plays by UNH, great goalkeeping and misses where we had some
lay-ups prevented that. We could have put it away early and maybe have gotten more kids in the game. If we had been able to do that, it would have helped us sustain their second half surge
when they made sub after sub. They did a good job in coming back with numbers and we slowed down a little bit. I'm happy, though, we made progress. It's sort of a double-edged sword. I'm sad
that we gave up the lead and I'm disappointed for our players because they put a lot into it." more

2008 Terriers Women's Soccer
Preview
Aug. 20, 2008
BOSTON - If
there is one thing to be said about the 2008 Boston University women's soccer team, it's that this squad is not content with all the extraordinary accomplishments of the 2007 campaign. The
Terriers want to leave their own mark on a program that has won five America East crowns and made six NCAA appearances in the last eight years. This drive to continually do better is a major
strength of the squad and a source of pride for head coach Nancy Feldman, who has nurtured the program since
its inception 14 years ago as a club team to a squad consistently competing for the league title and making a splash on the national stage.
"The players on this team have expressed to me that they want to uphold the level of success we have had in the past because they feel a responsibility towards those who
have come before them," said Feldman. "They have a healthy respect for what others have done while also feeling compelled to raise the bar."
