BOSTON - The Boston University women's soccer team and head coach Nancy Feldman are pleased to announce the 2013 recruiting class, which will compete with the two-time defending America East champions in the fall. The Terriers, who will be looking for their seventh conference title in 10 years, welcome a diverse group of seven student-athletes that hail from as close as Massachusetts to as far as Hawaii.

The 2013 class boasts three local players, but the coaching staff also stretched their recruiting efforts to New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Hawaii. Each of the seven incoming Terriers fills different roles throughout the lineup and plug in holes left by graduation.

Hailing from just 20 miles outside Boston, Adrienne Anderson of Needham, Mass., will graduate shortly from The Rivers Schools where she is a three-time All-ISL and two-time all-state and all-New England selection. Her high school team won the Independent School League her sophomore and junior campaigns. In addition, Anderson was a multi-sport athlete at The Rivers School, where she also competed in swimming and lacrosse.

"Adrienne has a nose for the goal," said Feldman. "She is athletic and strong and plays with aggressiveness."

Mari Carmichael will travel the furthest to BU, as she hails from Honolulu, Hawaii, where she played four years at the Punahou School. At Punahou, Carmichael was a member of the state championship squad as a senior, and her club team, the Real Copa 92G, claimed three consecutive state titles from 2005-2008.

"Mari is athletic and a fierce competitor," stated Feldman. "She comes from a strong club team and she is a complete player, who is tactical and physical."

Catherine Calsolaro a goalkeeper out of Albany, N.Y., played four years with the Alleycats Premier Soccer Club and won a gold medal at the Empire State Games. As a sophomore on the varsity team at Albany, she was named the 2006 Times Union Big Ten Second Team All-Star. In addition to her soccer accolades, Calsolaro was an accomplished swimmer, and competed for USA Swimming for eight years and with the Albany Starfish Swim Club.





"Catherine is very quick and quite athletic," said Feldman. "She will be able to compete immediately with Janie [Reilly] and Annie [Tooley]."

Brea Hewitt of Ashburn, Va., is a three-time all-district first team honoree and two-time all-region selection at Briar Woods High School. As a junior, she led the squad in scoring and was the team's MVP. Currently in the midst of her senior campaign, Hewitt also plays club soccer for the Loudon Youth Soccer team. She is a multi-sport athlete, who is also a member of the varsity basketball and volleyball teams.

"Brea will likely play on the flanks, but is mobile and adds depth at defense," said Feldman. "She can also play outside or at forward and has good pace."

Carly Lewandowski of Pittsburgh, Pa., comes to Boston University following her career at Mt. Lebanon High School, where she was the Almanac Rookie of the Year as a freshman and a Player to Watch as a sophomore. She is returning from injury this last season, but is a technical player who will provide depth at defense.

"She is very smart and a technical player," said Feldman. "She is coming back from injury, but in her first season will learn a lot."

Another Massachusetts native, Megan McGoldrick was the team's leading scorer at Reading Memorial High School for four years and led the Middlesex League her sophomore, junior and senior campaigns. She was a three-time Middlesex League all-star and as a junior was named the Daily Times Chronicle Player of the Year. Her decorated career was capped off by a remarkable senior season when she was also named an Eastern Mass All-Star, All-State and All-New England honoree.

"Megan will be used as a central midfielder," said Feldman. "She has great tenacious technique."

A local product out of Andover, Mass., Jessica Morrow heads into her first season in the scarlet and white following an impressive career at Andover High School - junior Emily Pallotta's alma mater - and within the club soccer ranks. She was a captain, offensive MVP and Eastern Mass All-Star as a senior, following an accolade-filled career, which began as the Rookie of the Year. She has played in the club ranks as well, first for the Aztec Soccer Club, then for the Great Boston Bolts and most recently for the MPS Renegades.

"Jessica is a technical player, who is mobile with good size and can contribute to the attack," said Feldman. "She was attracted to our style of play which is possession-oriented and that was important to her."
