Womens Soccer College Rankings: Which One Do You Believe?

October 1, 2009

by Jeff Steel GirlsSoccerUsa.com

It seems that there is a new site ranking women's soccer popping up everyday. Everyone has an opinion but who do you believe? Do you believe the sites like Soccer Times and NSCAA who poll top college coaches? How many of these coaches actually follow what other teams are doing? I am sure they follow the teams on their schedule and in their conference, but do they take the time to check on every team? Do you think that maybe these coaches vote on teams based on popularity, past performance, and maybe even vote on teamsthat they are or have played only to make their results against those teams, to make their own team look better?

I have come up with my own rankings. I believe that my rankings are more accurate than many of the other polls, because it is my job to follow what all of the teams are doing. While coaches are spending their time trying to improve their team and get ready for the next game I am spending hours watching games and sifting through the internet researching every team. I figured that you probably do not agree with all of my picks, so I put together my picks along with 3 other top rankings sites and came up with an average ranking system.

Below is the chart that shows my picks and 3 of the top ranking sites picks., along with the average rank of the four. I will post the updated ranking on this site every week by Wednesday.
